Our approach is experiential

Experiential therapy means…

that individuals have a lived experience in session of their emotions and relationships that can be shared with a supportive therapist and renegotiated or remolded as the session unfolds. The wisdom and memory encoded within the body are one of the most important ways in which therapy comes alive and becomes an experience rather than a one dimensional narrative.

Neuroscience findings teach us that our right hemisphere processes information in a non-linear non language based way. The right hemisphere responds to images, relational cues, tonality, body language, and felt sense.

Experiential therapies engage these parts of the brain in the healing process in addition to the more typical logic and language based processes housed in our left hemisphere. Some refer to this approach as right brain therapy.
